Game Highlights
-
Rhode Island at the
Jamfest. We started our season winning 4 and losing two games in our first event was a good
start. The competition was tough but we had some solid performances.
- The Jaguars then prepared itself for
the always tough Metropolitan
Regional Qualifying Tournament held at the Island Garden. Jim Fox
and Rosemary Nees always puts on a top notch event and this
was the same. We had stiff competition throughout and made it into the
playoff rounds...
- Onto the always tough
GYM RAT Tournament in Albany.
The Jaguars have a great reputation in many events but… the GymRat is one of
our favorites. The pressure was on after losing by two in the finals last
year to the host Albany City Rocks.

-
Rumble in the Bronx is always a tough event and Jim Hart did
it once again with great teams to compete against. Our pool was the toughest
in the Open division putting us against the Plazaz Black, Miami Tropics and
the Baltimore Select.
- The
Real Scout event hosted by St. John’s
and Nathan Blue was another good event. The St. John’s new practice
facility is a top notch facility and much needed for the Red Storm team
swept our pool and met up with Team Odom.
- The always tough
Reebok Summer Classic at FDU in
New Jersey was another good test for our guys this time during the live
period. Our first game against the Bay State Magic started off well. We
held a 14 pt lead with three minutes to go in the first half and then the
bottom fell out. Injuries and poor defense forced us into a real scrappy
game coming up on the short end by 5 to the Magic.

The
Orlando AAU Nationals -
Is an event we have qualified for 9 of 9
years of our existence. This is the final premier event for the summer
during the live period. We once again have a tough pool draw the LeBron
James team Cleveland Titans, The Illinois Wolves and the Super Showcase
Champions SYF Playaz from Indiana. We opened on center court in prime time
with tons of college coaches to watch both teams. It was a nip and tuck
game with he Jaguars leading most of the game. As it came down to the wire
we made some poor mistakes at the end that cost us the game at the
buzzer.... more ..
