Uka Agbai returns to Boston to begin his coaching career, after playing professionally for two years overseas. A physical and dominating big man during his career, Agbai will help bring his successful style of basketball to Northeastern’s front court. Upon his graduation from Boston College in 2004, he spent one year playing for TBB Trier in Germany and another in Finland as a member of the Pyrinto Basketball Club, captaining both squads.   A presence in the paint for the Eagles from 1999-04, he averaged 9.7 points per game and 5.0 rebounds over five seasons, as a neck injury early in his junior year forced him to take a medical redshirt.  ... more ...

 
Donald Brown

Donald Brown - Coming off an outstanding junior year when he was arguably the Patriot League's top "sixth man" ... elected team co-captain in 2006-07 ... has mainly platooned with Darren Mastropaolo at power forward, but this season has a chance to earn the starting small forward spot following the graduation of Charles Lee ... a gifted athlete who enjoys giving the team a spark when he comes in the game ... one of the conference's best leapers who routinely brings Sojka Pavilion patrons out of their seats with electrifying dunks ... strong, rangy defender ... good rebounder, especially on the offensive glass ... coming off back-to-back outstanding postseasons ... career 53.1% shooter.

Southern senior forward Kevin Diffley (32) (Queens, N.Y.) led all scorers with 21 points in 25 minutes off the bench, and freshman guard Trevor Harris (Nanuet, N.Y.) added 13 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Owls.

OWLS DROP SEASON OPENER AT SAINT ANSELM, 85-61
10/15/06 -- Manchester, NH - Southern Connecticut’s Kevin Diffley (Queens, NY) led all scorers with 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Owls fell to Northeast-10 opponent Saint Anselm College 85-61 in the men’s basketball season opener on Wednesday night in the Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.
Diffley shot 10-for-13 throughout the game, shooting a perfect 6-for-6 in the second half while teammate Devon Sullivan (Jamaica, NY) recorded 12 points and six rebounds in the game. Danny Miller (Brooklyn, NY) and Trevor Harris (Nanuet, NY) added 11 points a piece for the Owls.

Saint Anselm’s Giovanni Carenza finished with 13 points while Kyle Powers recorded 11 points and five rebounds.

The Owls will travel again on Tuesday, November 21, to Northeast-10 opponent Bentley College for a 7:30 PM match-up.
